Master Plan, Community Preservation and other land-use resources for Bridgewater

I have assembled this page as a resource for Bridgewater citizens who are concerned with planning and land-use issues in town. As a member of Bridgewater's Master Plan Implementation Committee, Community Preservation Committeee, Zoning Board of Appeals and McElwain School Study Committee, I have noticed how staff shortages in town government have reduced the effectiveness and openness of these committees.

We are unable to have meeting minutes, agendas and schedules posted to the town web site. Despite the best efforts of our part-time Community Development department, have not had adequate planning capacity in town. We have not had a state-approved Open Space Plan for several years and have therefore been ineligible for most private and government grants for the preservation of open space.

This page is my modest attempt to provide public access to the work of town committeees which is should be open to the public. I will also include links to web resources that will help us learn about the opportunities and strategies for addressing a variety of land use and planning issues. This page does not necessarily reflect the opinion of anybody but me. Please contact me with any comments or suggestions.

Thanks,

Peter Colombotos
