Starting sometime in the middle of 1998 I discovered the GenForum discussion boards on the Internet. Since that accidental beginning, I find that I have posted a lot of Tuttle family information on GenForum, mostly in reply to others' search questions. It did not seem like a lot of effort as I went along, but the volume of data has accumulated to a surprising total. Maintaining 'cleaned up' copies of the posted messages has become too much work, so I have to take advantage of the index generated automatically by GenFourm:
I am not the 'creator' of this information, merely an interpreter and scribe. I am lucky enough to have a copy of the Alva M. Tuttle book on the Tuttle and Tuthill family lines in America, and I have had practice interpreting his very terse style. I have more recently borrowed from my cousin a copy of the Franklin C. Pierce book on the Batchelder and Batcheller family lines. Funny how this pasttime starts to become an avocation...
