Some of these articles are on my blog, mingled with other topics.  In any case, the links will go to the appropriate page.  The 'MORE' links open a new window.  Many of these articles connect scientific observations to the insight of the Bible.

"Immaculate Conception?" – A Roman Catholic doctrine examined in the light of Scripture.

Did Mary need to be sinless so that Jesus could be born sinless?  (Did Mary's parents need to be sinless so that Mary could be born sinless?)

  "Faith and Sin are Opposites!"

Why is it that so many people don't have faith in God?  Why is it that so many people don't think that they are sinners?  This is how I discovered the answers to these questions.

After more than 60 years of trusting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, it finally dawned on me that faith and sin are opposites...  MORE...

  "Faith and Sin, continued"

In a previous post, I explained how faith and sin are opposites.  Faith is trusting God, and sin is driven by distrusting God.  I said that this explains why so many people don't have faith in God – they don't trust God because they want to be in control of their own lives.  It also explains why so many people don't realize that they are sinners – they think living up to their own standards is good enough, and ignoring God is OK, but that's trusting themselves, not God, and that's really what sin is all about.

But I think that this understanding of faith and sin as opposites also explains the relationship between faith and works...  MORE...

"The Big Picture" – Here's something I found by meditating on God's Word.

When we think about God, we usually think about mankind's relationship to God, and sometimes also we think about the environment around us that God created for us.  But that's not The Big Picture.  God has also created other thinking, living creatures – the angels – and environments for them to live in.
...

Pretend that you are an angel, not one of those that joined Satan's rebellion and his fall.  How would you see the history of mankind?  MORE...

  "A Theory of Everything"

"... The desire to explain the constants [of nature] has been one of the driving forces behind efforts to develop a complete unified description of nature, or 'theory of everything.'  Physicists have hoped that such a theory would show that each of the constants of nature could have only one logically possible value.  It would reveal an underlying order to the seeming arbitrariness of nature."

This amazes me that "physicists have no idea why" when the answer is right in front of them...  MORE...

  "ALL Things"

All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

John 1:3 (NKJV)

Modern science provides a remarkable perspective and insight to the "all things" of this verse...  MORE...

"Is Encoded Information an Essential Part of the Universe?"

In a previous blog entitled "All Things", I discussed how the universe is made of the four essentials:

matter — energy — space — time

– and how, according to the laws of physics, as best we know them, none of these can exist without the others.  Now I would like to extend the discussion by talking about information.

... it seems that we should add information to the list of essentials that the universe is made of:

matter — energy — space — time -- information

Or should we?  MORE...

  "In The Beginning Was Information"

...The ancient Greeks had a word, logos, that comes close to our word, information...   ...logos meant a visible representation of an invisible thought...

...So when the apostle John wanted to introduce Jesus Christ to the Greek-speaking world as the invisible God in visible flesh, the one who spoke the world into existence and who holds it together by his power, he introduced him as The Logos...  MORE...
