Did you know that weakfish are sexually mature by the age of 2?
Well since my last report weakfish disappeared from Barnegat Bay and now are back. Many methods such as plastics, worms and live
peanut bunker have been effective. Some days they can be found under birds mixed in with bluefish. Most of the times you just need to
fish the areas that are holding them. Fluking Barnegat Bay remains strong with catches of 50 or more flatties per outing. The keeper ratio
in around 1:15. Crabbing Barnegat Bay is still excellent.

Weakfish have started making a showing in Barnegat Bay. This week I ran my first grass shrimp chumming trips of the season and
got on the fish within 10 minutes! We had steady action with weaks to 19 inches. Although there are still some fluke in Barnegat Bay
I will be concentrating on weakfish for the next two months.
If you are interested in getting into this unique fishery Barnegat Bay has
to offer give me a call.
Right now we are in the early summer pattern. Lots, and I mean lots of 1-3 pound bluefish roaming Barnegat Bay. Early
morning and late afternoon seem to be prime time. Barnegat Bay is still infested with fluke, although most are shorts. With
this year's 18" minimum, limits are hard to come by but there are enough going in the box. We should start to see the bay load
up with weakfish during the next two weeks. The preferred method during the summer is chumming with grass shrimp. There is no better
summer method of catching Barnegat Bay weakfish during the summer then chumming with grass shrimp. Over the past few season my trips
averaged 75-100 fish. Great light tackle fun! Crabbing has been excellent with lots of BIG Jimmys. The bite will slow down with
the up coming full moon as the crabs mate and shed, but after that it will turn back on.

Hello all! Sorry I have not posted reports lately but I am back. In the bay we are seeing a great showing of bass and blues.
Many days it is hard to get to the bass through the blues. The blues are in the 5-10 pound range and sure to weaken most arms.
I recently took my youngest son out and he did great. Check out the size this this slammer! There are some big weaks around
but they are few and far between. Fluke season opens this Saturday and there have already been some big ones released by those
targeting other species.
