Mount Airy Learning Tree's Computer Volunteer Group

Meeting notes for 6/4/03

Debbie Levin asked about how her MAC was remote repaired by her ISP. This lead to a discussion of PC Anywhere and software that might run on your PC to give someone else access. Debbie was asked to check her MAC for background tasks that are loaded automatically.

Projects (Notes Incomplete, additional information will follow)
Laptop - One Team worked on Testing the Digital Laptop to determine if it would be usable with external Keyboard and mouse. There were errors on the HDD. If we don't get around that then the thing is junk. Which is a shame because the CPU is a Pentium II.
Dell GMT 5100+ - Replaced HDD again, and started to set it up(I think we got a good drive this time.)
Station12 - Still Having sporadic HDD Controller Failure

Computer Show on 6/22/2003.

I will be driving up to the show on the Sunday, instead of Saturday. If anyone wants to ride up with me, just let me know. I will be shopping for some used PCs and a laptop for a co-worker.

Project at Germantown Women's Y on 6/14/2003

We will setup some PCs using Drive Image software and assemble a projection system using the VGA multiplier.

Volunteer Opportunity
The Mt. Airy Bantams Youth Association Needs a Webmaster
The job involves using a menu driven system to customize and update a website that is provided by a vendor. The Webmaster would coordinate with parents from each of the Football or Cheerleading teams to post team, roster and game information. So the full job would not all be on one person. If you are Interested email Cookie Ridley at: dridley@septa.org
