WiFi Antenna Workshop

If you are interested in setting up wireless networks for the home or office and extending them with a bettor antenna, you should sign up for this class. I will be there because I want to learn more about what I needs to be done to setup an area of wireless Internet access.

9/17/2003 Meeting Notes -------------------------------------

During the first part of the meeting; handouts describing the different RAM types were passed out to the group. A short discussion diagnosing some memory problems followed. General POST beep codes from different BIOS manufacturers were also discussed.

Future outside projects were mapped out. The project at Summit Church needed upgrading RAM chips for ACER machines, a router, hookup INTERNET sharing, install windows 98 2nd edition. Internet Explorer 6 with Service Pack 1 and the latest security patch, should be installed. Two additional machines must be connected to the network.

On October 25, Norton anti-virus software provided by Symantec will installed at various nonprofit agencies. NPowerPA.org is coordinating the project and we will be participating by providing the manpower to setup virus at: Mount Airy Learning Tree Germantown Women's Y Free to Learn

The second part of the session was used for inside projects. A CD burner was to be installed on station #9, the PC needed to be re-imaged first.

station #12 hardware problems were resolved.

A new member, Frank Green, was welcomed to the group. He gave a very informative demonstration on troubleshooting hardware problems.
