Computer Volunteer Group Activities conducted on May 29, 2001
at Mount Airy Presbyterian Church

Ms. Agnes Wajdyk and Ms. Winnie Hill both representatives of the Germantown Women’s Y attended the meeting.

Group Reports: Printer Group was receiving error messages, they tried installing print drivers and switching cables. Connectivity Group is still having issues with computers 3 and 10. Computer Group, need to check if the correct video card is being accessed. If there are two disable the onboard card. The Data cables are also a place is often an issue.

We spoke of imaging discs the process by which one image is loaded to many machines. This can be done using hubs or switches. We will be using hub installations. Ms. Wajdyk pointed out that aside from the fact that you can install and restore files to corrupted machines, the registry becomes identical for all machines on the network load. Also discussed cd burning. The Monday Group- (Robi, Walter, Wes, Jorge and Steve) identified themselves to Ms. Wydyk and several of them will come on Saturday to get machines ready for the beginning of installation scheduled Monday, June 3 at the Germantown YWCA.

Computer Lab Setup: Partition Magic is software that creates a second drive on a machine. These Machines will also have Windows98 and ___________.

Future Plans: by mid-July we will have DSL and Internet Sharing in the computer lab.
