NESHAMINY-WARWICK PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
PRAYER LETTER
November 8, 2009"Nothing that is worth doing can be achieved in our lifetime; therefore we must be saved by hope. Nothing which is true or beautiful or good makes complete sense in any immediate context of history; therefore we must be saved by faith. Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone; therefore we are saved by love. No virtuous act is quite as virtuous from the standpoint of our friend or foe as it is from our standpoint. Therefore we must be saved by the final form of love, which is forgiveness." Reinhold Niebuhr
Please include the following members of our family of faith in your prayers this week: John Roushey Henri Rotelle (sister of Dottie Kieffer) Elizabeth Gilson (sister of Gil Gilson) Cathy Shaheen (daughter of Frank Shaheen) Donna Bates (friend of Gail Bilsland) Kelly Roundy (niece of Gail Bilsland)
Ongoing Concerns: Eloise Kupec Jim Marshall Jack Moneghan Dorothy Danihel Sue Henderson Frank Henderson Janet Woodside Cathy Smoyer Carly Mitchell Ken Moyer Wes Gregson Pat Nickett Bruce Little Joan Windish Tim Eimer |

Bible Study: Wednesdays at 10 a.m. NO BIBLE STUDY WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH At 10:00 a.m. in the auditorium over 30 people regularly attend this study led by our pastor, Mark. It is a rich time of learning for all as hearts and minds are opened to new vistas. Each week we will dive deeper into the bible passages from worship the previous Sunday. Attending is a good way to get better acquainted with our pastor and members of our congregation. Newcomers are welcome at any time.
Fall Preaching Series Psalms: Prayer Book of the Bible September-November At the very center of the Bible are songs, rising up like a tune from the heart. For every emotion and mood you can find a psalm to match. The psalms wrestle with the deepest sorrow and ask God the hardest questions about suffering and injustice. Their voice is refreshingly spontaneous. They do not tip flowery compliments toward God: they cry out to him, or shout for joy before him. In almost every psalm you find the presence of God, not as a philosophical principle, but as an active, strong, and loving Lord who makes a difference in life. Bernard Anderson
GREETERS: As you entered the sanctuary this morning you were greeted by Jeff Kircher.

MISSION TEAM CHRISTMAS BAZAAR AT NESHAMINY MANOR
On December 2, 2009 the Mission Team will be holding the annual Christmas Bazaar at the Neshaminy Manor Home. This sale enables the residents of the home to do Christmas shopping for their families and friends. The items are sold at a nominal price so that they can afford to shop.
We need a variety of items for the sale, and are hoping you will help by making donations. Suggestions include: books, especially childrens, games and small toys, jewelry, especially over-the-head necklaces, bracelets, clip-on earrings, brooches, jewelry boxes, word search books and crossword puzzle books, small packages of cookies (6 to a package) and small, hard peppermint candies. These are just some suggestions. Monetary contributions would also be appreciated as it would enable us to purchase items as needed and to give a few dollars to residents who would otherwise have no money for purchases. Money may be given to Carolee Eberwein, Barb Landes, Mara Sitasz or any member of the Mission Team.
Help will not only be needed the afternoon of December 2nd, but before then to help with pachaging. Set up time will be 11:30 am at the Manor, sale will be over at 3 pm.
There will be boxes marked NESHAMINY MANOR CHRISTMAS BAZAAR in Room 4 through November 22nd.
Thank you for your help!

IT’S CASSEROLE TIME AGAIN FOLKS! PLEASE HELP US FEED THE HOMELESS
The Women’s Association is asking ALL OF YOU to prepare a casserole to help the homeless at the Inn of St. Francis in Kensington. They feed approximately 1,050 men, women and children each month. Twice a year our Women’s Association deliver casseroles to help alleviate hunger for our neighbors. WE NEED EVERYONE’S PARTICIPATION! Starting TODAY and through November 8th you can pick up a pan or two in the auditorium or lobby outside the church office and sign the sheet. Fill the pan with your favorite food for at least 10 people (for variety and convenience, copies of recipes are beside the pans). You will find instructions for wrapping in the bottom of the pan. Freeze completely before bringing it to the church. It is very important that all casseroles be returned by Sunday, November 15th. |

Operation Christmas Child NWPC Sunday school children would like to invite you to join them in bringing joy, hope, and the Good News of God’s love to children in desperate situations world-wide. Please consider making a difference in the lives of children by packing a shoe box for Christmas. The Sunday school students will wrap the boxes. If shopping is not your thing, you can donate $7 to cover the cost of shipping someone else’s box. Finally, please pray for the children who will receive these boxes and learn about the greatest gift of all, Jesus. All boxes must be dropped off in the auditorium on or before November 22nd. Pamphlets with suggestions for what to pack in shoe boxes are available. Call Beth Madden with any questions (267-483-5723) |
