AgujaCabra (1:01 AM): heh. okay. It will be a pretty firm knock. At about 7AM in the morning.
NerwenGreen (1:02 AM): so will you say he's going to wake up?

NerwenGreen (1:02 AM): Thomas gets up and silently goes to the door to peer out the .. eyehole? (whatever you call that thing)
AgujaCabra (1:03 AM): There's a police officer standing outside.
AgujaCabra (1:04 AM): [the knocking is not gonna wake Shepard up :p ]
NerwenGreen (1:04 AM): Thomas watches the officer but makes no effort to open the door.
AgujaCabra (1:05 AM): After a minute, the officer wanders over to the next house, and places a knock on that door. Thomas can see another officer performing a similar task, across the way from his temporary apartment.
NerwenGreen (1:06 AM): Thomas continues to watch for a few minutes to see if they do anything interesting should someone actually answer a door.
AgujaCabra (1:08 AM): Someone does open their door, after a bit of knocking. The officer simply appears to be asking some questions. After several minutes [if Thomas watches that long], the individual being questioned is permitted to go back inside.
NerwenGreen (1:09 AM): After the individual goes back inside, Thomas loses interest and goes back to bed.
AgujaCabra (1:11 AM): Sometime later, Thomas would be awakened again by a loud explosion.
AgujaCabra (1:11 AM): [crap]
NerwenGreen (1:11 AM): Thomas gets up and peers outside the eyehole again. Where did the explosion sound like it was coming from?
NerwenGreen (1:12 AM): And what time is it?
AgujaCabra (1:12 AM): The explosion came from the direction of Shepard's house. Looking outside, Thomas can tell it is getting on in the day.. it's around 4PM.
NerwenGreen (1:13 AM): Thomas looks for a phone in his apartment.
AgujaCabra (1:13 AM): There is a telephone attached to the wall in the central room.
NerwenGreen (1:13 AM): Thomas tries to call Ryan with it.
AgujaCabra (1:14 AM): The phone functions. It's up to you what Ryan is doing.
NerwenGreen (1:15 AM): [well it's Sunday, so he's not working .. guess I'll say he is around to answer the phone :p]
AgujaCabra (1:15 AM): [hehe.. okay]
NerwenGreen (1:15 AM): The phone rings a couple times before it picks up. "Hello?" Ryan's voice comes over the line.
NerwenGreen (1:16 AM): "Hello, it's Thomas," Thomas says.
NerwenGreen (1:17 AM): "Thomas?" Ryan says with a note of disbelief. "It's 4 in the afternoon," he adds, as his tone begins to edge toward deep concern. "What's wrong?"
NerwenGreen (1:19 AM): "I am currently on the Isle Fontenot," Thomas quickly explains. "I was visiting Shepard and was unable to return home in time for the day. There has been an explosion near his house, and I would appreciate it if you could investigate it for me."
NerwenGreen (1:21 AM): Ryan starts up his bus and begins driving as he continues to talk over the phone. "One of these days, I'm going to make you do something for me," he retorts. "All right. You were visiting Shepard, but you're not at his house now?"
NerwenGreen (1:24 AM): "No," Thomas replies. "I am in a different apartment nearby." He tries to see if he can stretch the phone cord to the eyehole in the front door.
AgujaCabra (1:24 AM): It's a cordless phone :p
NerwenGreen (1:24 AM): yay =)
NerwenGreen (1:25 AM): He peers outside, trying to see if anything interesting is going on at Shepard's place.
AgujaCabra (1:25 AM): He can't really see Shepard's place from here. There are some people standing outside, looking in the direction of the explosion. A couple jog over that way.
NerwenGreen (1:26 AM): "And what do you want me to do? Just check to see if he survived?" Ryan inquires.
NerwenGreen (1:27 AM): "And to find out what happened if you can," Thomas adds. He gives Ryan some details on how to find Shepard's house. "There seems to be a crowd gathering, you should have no trouble finding it."
NerwenGreen (1:27 AM): "Okay," Ryan replies gamely. "And where are you?"
NerwenGreen (1:28 AM): "I am in apartment #34, which is one row over."
NerwenGreen (1:29 AM): "All right, gotcha," Ryan answers. "I'm on my way. And I know exactly how I'm going to make you pay for this later." He cackles evilly for a few seconds.
NerwenGreen (1:30 AM): Thomas groans lightly. "What would you like me to do?"
AgujaCabra (1:30 AM): [he's gonna make him go to the circus!!]
NerwenGreen (1:30 AM): [good guess =)]
NerwenGreen (1:31 AM): "Well," Ryan begins in an amused tone, relishing the thought. "You know that carnival in town? I just got a job there, and I thought it would be fun if we went to it."
NerwenGreen (1:32 AM): There is a pause as Thomas considers this. He groans again but makes no other comment.
NerwenGreen (1:33 AM): "Oh come on, it'll be fun!" Ryan protests mischievously.
NerwenGreen (1:34 AM): "Yes, I'm sure you will be enjoying yourself greatly," Thomas returns drily, with a note of reluctant resignation.
NerwenGreen (1:34 AM): [can Ryan get there yet?]
NerwenGreen (1:35 AM): Ryan snorts in mock disgust. "Yes, yes I will, and so will you."

[Ryan travelled on foot toward the docks by the lake, not with his car.]

NerwenGreen (1:42 AM): Before Thomas can reply, Ryan adds "okay, gotta stop bantering for a few minutes while I catch a boat."
NerwenGreen (1:43 AM): He negotiates passage to the island.
AgujaCabra (1:44 AM): All right. He can get their without trouble. There are a few more people outside, now that it's daylight.. Some makeshift shops are open, and a small crowd has just begun to disperse around the area of Shepard's house.
NerwenGreen (1:45 AM): Ryan is wearing faded jeans, a t-shirt, and his extra-large denim jacket which has lots of pockets. He has various gadgets and gadget parts stuffed into the pockets.
NerwenGreen (1:45 AM): He follows the crowd and finds Shepard's house.
AgujaCabra (1:47 AM): The right section of Shepard's house containing his bedroom, has [~collapsed] from some type of localized explosion. Part of the roof on that side is caving in, and A section of the neighbor's wall is also missing.

NerwenGreen (1:48 AM): Are there any authoritative-like people there yet? Or can Ryan go poking around in it without getting thrown out?
AgujaCabra (1:49 AM): There aren't any policemen yet..
NerwenGreen (1:49 AM): [heh .. they'd have to get there by boat too :p]
NerwenGreen (1:49 AM): Ryan casually wanders into the rubble and begins looking for signs of Shepard in it.
AgujaCabra (1:50 AM): He doesn't see anything that looks like a human form. . Is he using his gadgets to search?
NerwenGreen (1:50 AM): After searching for a few minutes and not seeing a body, he pulls out his favorite tricorder thing and starts scanning.
AgujaCabra (1:51 AM): Vampires are matter instead of life... ? So.. He will be able to detect a human sized chunk of matter underneath the soil in the foyer.
NerwenGreen (1:52 AM): He has both life and matter, so either way it works ]
AgujaCabra (1:53 AM): I'm not sure what else he would be able to tell about it... but there is definately something like that under the dirt.
NerwenGreen (1:53 AM): After locating Shepard, he flips open the cell phone again. "Are you still there?" he asks.
NerwenGreen (1:53 AM): "Yes, go ahead," Thomas replies apprehensively.
NerwenGreen (1:54 AM): "Well, half of the house is collapsed, but I think he's successfully .. what's the word, earthmelded." Ryan reports.
NerwenGreen (1:55 AM): "Ah, that is good to hear," Thomas replies with some relief. "Do you think you can continue to watch the area until nightfall?"
NerwenGreen (1:56 AM): "Sure, I suppose I could do that," Ryan answers.
NerwenGreen (1:57 AM): "Oh, one other thing," Thomas adds as a thought strikes him. "We had a prisoner. Do you see any signs of a modified human anywhere?"
NerwenGreen (1:57 AM): "Modified how?" Ryan asks as he pulls out his gadget and begins scanning again.
NerwenGreen (1:57 AM): "Like Chauncey," Thomas responds.
AgujaCabra (1:58 AM): The modified person is no longer in the house.
NerwenGreen (1:59 AM): "Nope, I don't see him," Ryan says over the phone after a few minutes.
NerwenGreen (2:01 AM): "All right," Thomas says quietly in a disappointed tone after a long moment.
AgujaCabra (2:02 AM): [sorry :/ ]
NerwenGreen (2:02 AM): I'm done dialoguing :p ... Ryan gets Thomas's phone number and finds out which apartment he's in, and then settles back into the general crowd to watch.
AgujaCabra (2:05 AM): Eventually, some police officers will arrive to rope off the area. They recommend that people living on the island find alternate arrangements, until the people responsible for the murders and the bombing are apprehended.
NerwenGreen (2:06 AM): Ryan fades out of the area and spends the rest of his day hovering around in the background nearby. Thomas goes back to sleep.
