AgujaCabra (9:13 PM): The early morning air is crisp and clear.. there are no other vehicles parked in the lot when Thomas and Ryan arrive, and they get to the park without any hassle.
NerwenGreen (9:14 PM): They get into the car, and Ryan drives back toward Thomas's house.
AgujaCabra (9:16 PM): There's nothing excessively unusual on the streets tonight. A drunk driver swerves in lazy arcs on the road in front of Ryan for a block or two, but eventually turns off. You can also get back to Thomas' without anything important happening ^^
NerwenGreen (9:18 PM): Thomas is quiet all the way home. Ryan tries to engage him in conversation a few times, but gets only monosyllabic responses.

NerwenGreen (9:23 PM): What time is it by the time they get home?
AgujaCabra (9:23 PM): Approximately 4:40 AM
NerwenGreen (9:24 PM): and sunrise is?

AgujaCabra (9:27 PM): say... the sun comes up around 6:30. That's a good, even time.

NerwenGreen (9:31 PM): Ryan pulls into his usual spot in the parking lot near Thomas's house. Thomas nods quietly at Ryan, then climbs out and begins walking toward his front door, rummaging for his key as he walks. Ryan yawns tiredly and follows him.
NerwenGreen (9:31 PM): [hmm .. .this is going to be really stupid..]
AgujaCabra (9:31 PM): [um.. why?]
NerwenGreen (9:33 PM): Thomas looks askance over his shoulder as he notices Ryan following, but doesn't stop. He unlocks the door and lets them inside. Carefully, he removes the necklace from his pocket and places it on the coffee table, then sinks wearily into the nearest chair, studying it.
NerwenGreen (9:34 PM): Ryan grabs a seat across from Thomas and pulls out his scanner again, aiming it at the necklace. "What do you make of it?" he asks.
AgujaCabra (9:34 PM): [haha. you guys have fun :p ]
NerwenGreen (9:35 PM): [nothing new turns up via scan, I assume? :p]
AgujaCabra (9:35 PM): [nah. it's wax]
NerwenGreen (9:36 PM): "It is certainly strange, that you would find a necklace that looks coincidentally like one belonging to a former prince," Thomas remarks quietly. He considers thoughtfully for a moment.
NerwenGreen (9:37 PM): "Does your tricorder have anything new to add?" Thomas asks after a small pause.
NerwenGreen (9:38 PM): "Nope, it's just wax," Ryan replies. He frowns suddenly. "Wait. Was the actual necklace made of wax, or was it made of something more sturdy, and we just have a wax replica?"
NerwenGreen (9:39 PM): Thomas raises an eyebrow. "We should have clarified with Antor. Perhaps you should ask tomorrow."
NerwenGreen (9:40 PM): Ryan nods agreeably, then grins slightly. "Hey, you want to come to the carnival again tomorrow?"
NerwenGreen (9:42 PM): Thomas looks amused for a moment, then shakes his head quietly. "I will need to eat," he answers. A worried expression crosses his face for a moment, and he pulls out the appointment book to look over Monday's appointments again.
AgujaCabra (9:43 PM): [do you remember the appointments, or should I try to find the details :p ? ]
NerwenGreen (9:44 PM): Ryan's smile fades with some concern. "You said that earlier tonight," he remarks. "And I know you've had a rough weekend." He pauses for a moment before asking hesitantly, "How badly do you need to eat?"

AgujaCabra (9:49 PM): [9:00 and 10:30 are the appointments]
NerwenGreen (9:50 PM): Thomas glances at Ryan for an instant, then looks back down at the appointment book, silent for a long moment. "I ... will manage," he finally says softly.

NerwenGreen (9:56 PM): Ryan snorts skeptically. "You can have some of mine if you really need it," he says. "You know that."

NerwenGreen (10:04 PM): Thomas avoids looking at Ryan. "I do not feed from friends," he answers. "You know that." He checks the time and considers the matter thoughtfully, gazing out the window indecisively.

NerwenGreen (10:09 PM): Ryan sighs in exasperation. "What are friends for, though?" He looks seriously at Thomas. "I offer my blood to you freely. And you know I can make more a lot faster than most people can."

NerwenGreen (10:12 PM): Thomas makes no reply, continuing to gaze steadily at the window.
AgujaCabra (10:13 PM): [if he sits there for an hour, he'll definately run out of time to feed :p ]
NerwenGreen (10:13 PM): [argh ... I knew this was going to be a stupid scene]
AgujaCabra (10:14 PM): [aw... naw. it's not stupid. sorry. I'm givin' ya a hard time :p ]
NerwenGreen (10:19 PM): After a moment, Ryan gets up and goes into Thomas's storage room. Rummaging around for a few seconds, he emerges with a roll of bandages and heads for the kitchen. He digs out a glass and a small knife, then cuts across his left forearm, stifling a gasp of pain as he does so. He carefully allows [~2] blood points to drip into the glass, then wraps his arm tightly with the bandages.

NerwenGreen (10:26 PM): Cleaning off the knife by running it under the sink for a minute, he picks up the glass and takes it back into the main room, placing it on the desk behind Thomas's chair.
AgujaCabra (10:26 PM): [this is really awkward.. I'm gonna pretend I'm not watching this]
NerwenGreen (10:28 PM): [angst 101? :p]
AgujaCabra (10:28 PM): [hehe.. ::averts eyes::]

NerwenGreen (10:32 PM): Thomas continues to sit silently, looking through his window, as Ryan moves about behind him. Ryan pauses briefly to look over at Thomas as he sets down the glass. "You are what you are, and I accept that," he says quietly. "Even if you don't." He pauses for another moment, not really expecting a response, and walks over to the door to let himself outl
NerwenGreen (10:32 PM): out.
AgujaCabra (10:33 PM): [::chokes/ dies on angst::]
NerwenGreen (10:33 PM): [it's a vamp game ... there's gotta be at least one angst scene somewhere ;)]
AgujaCabra (10:34 PM): [not between two characters owned by a single player :P ]
NerwenGreen (10:34 PM): [fine fine :p .. I won't stage any more of these]

NerwenGreen (10:37 PM): As Ryan steps outside, Thomas finally speaks. "Thank you," he offers quietly, still not looking at him. Ryan pauses momentarily to peer back in at Thomas. "You're welcome," he returns somewhat casually, "good night."
NerwenGreen (10:38 PM): He closes the door and goes back to his bus.
AgujaCabra (10:38 PM): [::dies::]
NerwenGreen (10:38 PM): [there! awkward scene over ;)]
AgujaCabra (10:38 PM): [::ST does not respond. has ceased to exist::]
AgujaCabra (10:40 PM): [murrrr]
NerwenGreen (10:40 PM): After a long moment, Thomas rises wearily to his feet and goes over to pick up the glass. He studies it briefly, then drains it. Sighing heavily, he goes into the kitchen to clean up.
AgujaCabra (10:41 PM): [quit! ::pokes Thomas for being angsty::]
NerwenGreen (10:41 PM): [hehe]

NerwenGreen (11:06 PM): Ryan tries to heal himself after he gets back to the bus.
AgujaCabra (11:07 PM): you go ahead and clear up anything concerning your own chars... I'll brb ^^
NerwenGreen (11:07 PM): heh, okay ..
AgujaCabra (11:09 PM): roll to see if he can patch himself up all right...
NerwenGreen (11:09 PM): Ryan botched his first heal roll, spent a willpower to make it a fail. :p He rolled 2 successes the second time.
AgujaCabra (11:10 PM): don't you spend willpower before the roll is made?

NerwenGreen (11:18 PM): Thomas will go out and hunt for deer for an hour before sunrise, then hunt for people the following evening until 8:30.
NerwenGreen (11:18 PM): Ryan is going to yawn and sleepily go into work the following morning at the carnival.
AgujaCabra (11:19 PM): what time does he go into work :p ? it could very easily be a little later in the day... depending on what he wants.
NerwenGreen (11:19 PM): What would the terms have been when he was hired?
AgujaCabra (11:21 PM): well.. he's building a ride, right? there's no reason he would have regular hours for that. they're looking for good ideas to begin with... not hours at the park.
NerwenGreen (11:21 PM): okay
NerwenGreen (11:21 PM): so .. he can show up whenever he wants?
AgujaCabra (11:22 PM): I think that's reasonable. He needs to have at least one preliminary design a week from when he was hired. . ?

AgujaCabra (11:23 PM): god. don't ask me to come up with job stuff.. especially bizarre job stuff like building a roller coaster.

NerwenGreen (11:23 PM): I think it still requires actual time put in ... but if they say he can work from home, then he wouldn't have to hold regular office hours or anything
AgujaCabra (11:24 PM): yeah.. that was kind of my thought. there's no reason he'd have to physically be at the carnival.
NerwenGreen (11:24 PM): if he's part of a team that's designing it, he'd need to show up for planning meetings and such
AgujaCabra (11:24 PM): oh. aah. I guess it would make the most sense for him to be part of a team..
AgujaCabra (11:25 PM): do we need to rp through any of his working day? if not, the details of the arrangement aren't terribly important.. if you want to rp him while Thomas is sleeping, I guess we'd better figure it out.
NerwenGreen (11:26 PM): uh, up to you how you want to do it ;)
NerwenGreen (11:26 PM): If he doesn't have to be in at any set time, the earliest he'd be likely to show up there would be 2pm.
NerwenGreen (11:27 PM): He'd probably want to wander around and look at the coaster-type rides that are already available, look at the amount of space allotted for the new one... that sort of thing
NerwenGreen (11:27 PM): and meet with whoever else might be on the team to design the thing
NerwenGreen (11:28 PM): If he runs into Nightshade, he'd want to talk about the attack on the rat guy too
AgujaCabra (11:28 PM): okay. . at 2PM he probably is not going to run into Nightshade.

AgujaCabra (11:32 PM): it's this deep, throbbing sound that keeps cutting off my train of thought about every 5-10 seconds... everything I had in my head up til that point is muted and vanishes. . never to be found again.

AgujaCabra (11:36 PM): after rolling Thomas' luck dice.. I have discovered that he did not find a deer. As for the humans... I'm sure that he had more of an opportunity. Where would he hunt?

AgujaCabra (11:37 PM): there are actually some mages he might get.... um..

AgujaCabra (11:38 PM): theoretically, he could nab a mage with his darts... there's a group of them living out sort of his way.
AgujaCabra (11:39 PM): since he's starting a little earlier in the evening this time around, he should have no trouble filling up on blood.

NerwenGreen (11:39 PM): he only hunts for 2 hours though, so he can get back in time for his first appointment

AgujaCabra (11:40 PM): all right. let's say he was able to find four people in that time [based on a very good dice roll].

NerwenGreen (11:41 PM): so he's up to 14 points by the time his first appointment rolls around.
NerwenGreen (11:42 PM): He will continue hunting after his appointments end, until 12:30 or so.
AgujaCabra (11:43 PM): The two appointments are return visits. Neither has any dramatic problems, and both shuttle out the door without a fuss.

AgujaCabra (11:44 PM): His second hunting trip is not quite as fruitful. He finds two hikers that fit his profile.
NerwenGreen (11:44 PM): That's not too bad .. that puts him up to 18.
NerwenGreen (11:45 PM): He plans for a return home at 1 am. He checks for messages.
AgujaCabra (11:46 PM): wow. the entire world begins to speak with me... 4 IMs aside from yours.
