10/18/02 Research notes for Ryan

NerwenGreen (9:37 PM): he wants to know a) what the media has about the wax murders as written up in the papers, and b) who is Volant
NerwenGreen (9:37 PM): he'd probably start by looking for the obit of Tracy
AgujaCabra (9:37 PM): oh my goodly goodness...
NerwenGreen (9:39 PM): then he's also going to look up the public info on the island of Guillame

AgujaCabra (10:16 PM): [oh right. sorry!] a) The mainstream newspapers do not report any related deaths involving wax, and only list one such murder occurring about three months ago on Discovery. He could find an independent paper that lists two other such murders, over the past year, and one other wax murder approximately 3 years ago. No connections between the murders are given, although all victims were female, and nicely dressed. b) Volant's name is not in any public records. .. Tracy's obituary is simple and to the point.

AgujaCabra (10:25 PM): okay.. b) Volant is not listed in the public records... Tracy's obituary is simple and to the point. She will be having a private funeral. c) A family was murdered on Guillame in 1910. Their bodies were only found a month later, bound in ropes, and left inside the foyer of their home. They had been cut cleanly along the wrists and neck.

AgujaCabra (11:05 PM): There is a brief entry on a man named Foster Kealan. He was largely responsible for reorganizing the city's streets, and expanding Midsomer across the river [towards the top of the map]. Along with Mr. Midsomer [the city's first mayor], he capitalized upon the oil business, and is partly responsible for the railroad that used to pass through, running alongside the river.
AgujaCabra (11:05 PM): Ondriasova is not listed. Cyperion is mentioned in a recent article about simulation research. He is still working at the local college as an associate professor.

NerwenGreen (11:24 PM): he looks up Strauss
AgujaCabra (11:25 PM): The house registered under Strauss was burned in the fire... There's no record of what happened to him, or who he was.
NerwenGreen (11:26 PM): he looks up everyone named Strauss currently in the city
NerwenGreen (11:26 PM): also tries to find out who owns the current building at that spot
AgujaCabra (11:27 PM): hm... I wonder what that would be listed under...
AgujaCabra (11:27 PM): Ludwig S. Cineburgh owns the house.
NerwenGreen (11:28 PM): he looks up that guy
AgujaCabra (11:29 PM): [pfft... I'll just say you can find out the 'S' is Strauss]

Nothing on Aashton

10/18/02 Additional research notes for Thomas

NerwenGreen (11:57 PM): okay so anyways, Thomas looks up Shepard, Gracian, and the mayor under both names that he knows him by
AgujaCabra (12:02 AM): 1820- Mr. Gresham Midsomer discovered oil near what is currently Mcaffrey St.

1835- Town officially named 'Louiville.' It is later renamed Midsomer after the city's first mayor. Mr. Midsomer established many of the primary business centers in the city, and was responsible for the railroad that once cut through the center of town.

AgujaCabra (12:02 AM): In 1997- Madison Garnett campaigned for a Leukemia treatment center, as an adjunct to the local hospital. Construction began later that year, and the facility opened in 1999.

Mr. Garnett's wife was killed in an automobile accident, 7 years ago.

He has been a figure in local politics for approximately 15 years.

AgujaCabra (12:06 AM): Gracian is not listed, but he could find a photograph of the mayor with Gracian standing in the background.. Shepard is in the history books.
NerwenGreen (12:07 AM): what's Shepard done?
NerwenGreen (12:07 AM): the photograph is of the mayor recently? or back in the 1800s?
AgujaCabra (12:07 AM): [sigh]. Shepard is evidently the city's architect.
AgujaCabra (12:07 AM): [recently]
NerwenGreen (12:07 AM): [ok]
NerwenGreen (12:07 AM): Thomas would read up on Shepard with great interest. :p
NerwenGreen (12:09 AM): [why would you not want me to know all this stuff ]
AgujaCabra (12:12 AM): The history books do not list much on Shepard, but he is responsible for much of the historical architecture in the city. His designs were used almost exclusively for the city's early designs, and some blueprints were also picked up later by planning committees to construct additional buildings. . They have no other personal information on him; no pictures; .. but I suppose they would have him listed as Laurence Samuel Shepard.
AgujaCabra (12:13 AM): [::ducks and hides::]

NerwenGreen (12:16 AM): when were most of the historical buildings designed and constructed?
AgujaCabra (12:18 AM): well... oh bother, what would that book say.. The city was founded in 1846 of course, which began a period of construction. They would list Shepard during that time.
AgujaCabra (12:19 AM): the book has no idea if he was already a vampire then, or a human ;p No listing of him having a family though, no photographs.
