The Career Women's Network, a
special-interest group of Newtown Hadassah,
is dedicated to meeting the needs of career-minded women,
regardless of whether those women are currently working outside
the home.
Meetings are held monthly and center on career-related themes.
Networking is encouraged at every meeting and throughout the
year.
A Career Women's Network Directory, listing members
businesses/professions
and contact information, is published annually.
A majority of the funds raised by the Career Women's Network are targeted for the Hadassah Career Counseling Institute in Israel. The institute plays a unique role in helping Israelis make educational and employment choices. Its SMILES program, Single Mothers In Learning Entrepreneurial Skills, teaches women how to open and operate small businesses. Most of the participants are sole providers for their families and live below the poverty line when they begin the course.
