Ok boys, Tomorrow is a go.  No weather in sight that will get in the way.  Again, I apologize about having to cancel the event last week, but the forecast was all over the place and I felt that it was the right call in the end.  I didn't want to risk having people driving in any kind of risky weather conditions.  So it's all good!

Tomorrow should be a fun day.  I'm looking forward to playing a ton of Left 4 Dead.  I haven't played vs. mode yet and I purposely haven't played it so that I can experience it at the LAN.  From what I've heard, it's a blast!  As far as other games, I think we will be playing some COD4 and some Rainbow6 Vegas2.  Both of those are always fun.

Now for some bad news.  I was not able to set up the tables for our event in the LGI today after school because I was told there was an event in there.  So tomorrow when we get in we'll have to dump our gear and set up the room.  I apologize about this but it's the nature of the beast when you LAN at CCHS.  It shouldn't take long if we all work together.

Ok I'll see you all tomorrow between 7:30 and 8:00 AM.  As always, check out the links to the left for a walk down memory lane and some pointers on what to bring and what is expected in terms of behavior for tomorrow.  You veterans know what to expect.  But for any new comers, check out the info.  Thanks guys!

It's just over a week before this year's LAN O WAR event and so far we have 10 people signed up to attend.  From the sounds of it, there will be some smokin' systems showing up to play some killer games.  I can't wait to see what people bring.

As mentioned before, we will play some of the classic games like we have in the past.  But on the slate is Call of Duty 4 and possibly some Team Fortress 2 from The Orange Box.  So if you don't have either of these, I highly recommend that you purchase them before the event if you have the money.  As for the other games, we'll definitely play some Rainbow Six Vegas and Raven Shield and the Unreal Tournament games.

Ok, if you haven't replied to my email concerning this event, then get on it.......times a wastin'!  Hope to see all of you there!

12/30/07 - (1:35 PM EST) News Update:
Ok peeps, listen up.  It's that time of year again when we all decide to throw down for the annual LAN and not only show off our gaming skills but also showcase the really cool upgrades that we have added to our machines in the last year.  I'm excited for this year's event because I too have just upgraded a few things on my rig to bring it up to speed to play some of the next gen games coming out.  Crysis looks amazing and the new UT 2007 also looks like fun.  But I'd have to say that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has my attention the most.  Even though I haven't purchased the game yet, I will get it for Christmas and give it a whirl.  The reviews are looking really good for the multi-player but not so good for single player.  In fact PC Gamer rated it a 91% but the only reason it got that was because of the multi-player aspect.  So it should be fun.

This year's LAN is January 12, 2008.  Doors open at 8:00 AM.  We will go until everyone is tired or just bored.......hopefully the latter won't be the case!  Bring snacks and drinks for nourishment throughout the day.  You may come and go as you wish for food or breaks but I am not responsible for you once you leave the building.  There is no smoking on the school premises or on the campus.

As always, this year's LAN is a "bring your own computer" LAN which means, I will NOT be supplying any computers or equipment.  This includes CAT-5 cables.  Over the past few years I have lent out some cables and have not gotten them back.  So this year I will not be doing that.  Bring your own stuff!!  As far as games, I would like to play some COD4 and some UT 2007.  If those games aren't on your Christmas list, then put them on and get them!  Raven Shield and some RS Vegas are looking like a staple at this point and most likely some old school Unreal Tourney and/or UT 2003 and UT 2004.  So load up what you got and bring it because we'll play them all at some point.  Ok that's all for now.
