B. A. R. K. Be Aware, Responsible & Kind Dog Bite Prevention Program

Responsible pet ownership is a key point in our presentation of the Dog Bite Prevention Program. The pictured demonstration dog, Roopy, is an Australian Shepherd who has been active in emotional therapy visits at the Delaware State Hospital for the Chronically Ill since he was 10 weeks old and began visiting St Joan's Center for Behavioral Health in 2003. During his visiting experience, Roopy has successfully interacted with hundreds of residents, dozens of patients and multiple staff members. Roopy has also taken part in the Kent County SPCA’s summer camp educational program for school-aged children, Dover Air Force Base Wing Safety & Health days, and Dover Public Library's Reading Program.
