I have written a 109 page book of forty-three new games for use at adult or youth (high school age and above)
parties, get-togethers and meetings. Most of these games are based on puzzles that would be interesting to most who enjoy puzzles in their own right, but they are designed and have been used very successfully in group settings, for teams to compete against each other and the clock. The vast majority of these are games I developed over the years as "social director" for my work group, extended family gatherings, home Bible study group and men's leadership team at my church.
Five are "get acquainted" games, to help group members to get to know each other, learning interesting and obscure things about each other's backgrounds and likes and dislikes. Twelve of the games are Bible based, and work well for church youth groups or home fellowship groups. Twenty-six the games are just fun puzzles, many of them with humorous and zany solutions. These include brain teasers, back country medical definitions, a baby boomer trivia quiz, famous epitaphs, fanciful word definitions, and many more (see table of contents). A few of the games in the book can be looked at by clicking here. Bring one of these games to a party, and you will be a hit, and they will be clamoring for more.
The answers are provided, but try the puzzles for yourself first, so you can see how much fun they are, and how hard they would be for your guests. They range in difficulty, from fairly easy to quite challenging.
The games are presented in a loose leaf format ready for reproduction, and the rights to reproduce them for use at parties is granted with the purchase of the book.
The book is available electronically in Microsoft Word (specify which version of Word you have) for $6.99 or in hard copy format for $14.99, (for a limited time the $14.99 price includes shipping and handling!). If you would like to purchase the book, please send a check or money order to Randy Walker, 1272 Betty Ave., San Leandro, CA 94578 USA, with your email Id (if you want me to email you the Word version) or shipping address (if you want me to snail mail you the hard copy).
