Please note: Our new SARC Bylaws on the membership page.
SARC will hold a special Christmas dinner December 12th at the Scottish rites temple @ 6:00pm
The following are SOME of the most recent events of the Salem Amateur Radio Club.
See Leadership for details and help run some HF gear for two weekends. Take a look at this guy's first tractor, a 1912 model!
The most extreme HF event I have ever witnessed with about 12 towers, in camp carts, camp canteen, RV's or tents for all stations, nearly 200' separation of stations all within a 900' diameter circle, solar stations, ATV Demo, CERTS demo, public display table, and flags and banners all over the place. What a great way for the newcomers to witness HF and a pretty way to show off Ham Radio to the public (next to a several thousand person swap meet). If you are a local Ham, you just had to be there! See Leadership page for election results from May meeting. Bunny Hunting training at Mento Park off South River Rd @ 11 AM. Some antenna building is going on. See one of the Field Day band captains for details. The SARC Christmas Diner at 4090 Commercial St. SE, Salem. See details on the Activities page. See pictures on the Gallery page. SARC participated in SwaptoberFest, a swapmeet to help support local ARES groups. In this event, SARC runs the "Country Store" table to aid those attending the event. American Diabetes Association Walk in downtown Salem, starts at the Riverfront Park. SARC is involved as communicators and light assistance.
SARC Special Event Station at the Brooks Antique Powerland. The SARC Field Day-site. Click the tower to watch the photos appear at Google's site.
Hamfair "Country Store" The Mid Valley ARES SwapToberfest "Country Store"
The Walk for Diabetes Event at the Riverfront Park in Salem. Click here for a group picture. We put in a good show for Ham radio in Salem. Annual Club picnic - Clagget Park in Keizer. Added pictures to the Gallery. Added the photo album for the 2007 Field Day to the web album page. The 2007 Field Day event at the Salem 4H Center. The property is great and we turn this into a great party / Emergency operation exercise / station demonstration / antenna demonstration / public relations event / Club building event. See the link 2007 Field Day site for the location. Changed webmasters to allow continued support of the club page. If reporting errors, let the webmaster know what page it was on and the exact verbage.
