I saw
a little girl struggling to play the piano and I knew she was
frustrated because she was a beginning reader.
Then I remembered that years ago I had a God given dream about a way to play
the piano for new readers or people in a hurry to play a little tune
so I looked up my notes. I had this dream on November 16, 1979.
In the dream, two ladies dressed in tailored suits, one wearing
bright orange-red and the other wearing bright yellow with lace
blouses brought me a Music Lesson Plan on how to teach the piano.
They both had black old-fashioned finger waves like ladies wore back
in the 40's.
The musical notes were cartoon shaped
and the ladies explained in great detail how to teach these unusual piano
lessons. I wrote the information down as soon as I woke up.
Enjoy this fun free lesson.
I copied a song using the cartoon notes for the little
girl and in a few minutes, she was playing a melody! She had a
BIG SMILE on her face and I felt very happy for her.
Copy the keyboards and overlap onto the tab. Maybe you can
print the keyboard. Tape onto the back of a file folder or
lightweight cardboard and match with piano keys by placing right
above them.
Try playing "When the Saints Go Marching In". The
notes start with the actual letters so that beginning readers can pick up on
the proper note's names as they practice.
| A for Apple, B for
Butterfly, C for Cat, |
 |
D for Dog, E
for Egg, |
F for Fan, and G for
Golf Ball.
The Middle C has a cat with NO WHISKERS except for one
straight line through his mouth. |
 |
The upper notes have arrows pointing UP and the lower
notes have arrows pointing DOWN. The notes in the middle are
not marked with arrows.
Place the Cartoon Cardboard
Keyboard placed above the
real piano keys and match the cartoon notes on the Cartoon Song Sheet
Music. This is "Just for Fun"!
