I had searched all over the engine compartment for the infamous "self test connector", only to find NONE.
Finally figuring it probably was a pre EEC 4 system, my disappointment turned to reality, when I discovered the printed EEC III label on the ECU.
Much more to my dismay, was trying to find any information on how to pull trouble codes on the system.
At about the point I was ready to give up, I found out it was possible, and have constructed this webpage to help other poor souls that find themselves in a similar predicament.
Sure you could upgrade your system to an EEC IV, or better, but if you're in a crunch as I was, there just may be hope for you on this page!
Unless I have/take the time to better explain the procedure, I can refer you to a PDF, that briefly and vaguely reveals a shade tree mechanics method, without having to use a Rotunda tester (which would be better if you have access to one).

If you find a sensor has gone bad, you can buy a new one through them as I did.
Before ordering through them, I waited for a week, for my local parts store to special order a throttle position sensor. When the part came in, it was the wrong one, and they suggested I then go to a bone yard.
Yeah, sure, all I need is to miraculously find another one from such a rare vehicle, and expect that it would be in any better condition.
It was then, that I bought what I needed through Tomco (no relation to me, except their name).

Incidently, contrary to the location of the ECU that the manuals give, my ECU was mounted underneath the driver's seat.
