Dear Fellow Wayland Resident,

We are writing on behalf of the Wayland Democratic Town Committee (WDTC) to ask for your support of our organization and efforts. Over the past several years, our top priority has been to expand and diversify our active membership and to strengthen the WDTC as an active organization in town.

In 2006, our Committee worked to elect Deval Patrick, the first Democratic Governor since 1990, and Tom Conroy, the first Democratic State Representative to represent Wayland in decades. These Democrats are working for the best interests of all of us, not just a favored few.

In the months to come, we will be working to ensure the election of a Democrat to replace Congressman Martin Meehan and also for the re-election of Tom Conroy.

We need your support — initially in one or more of three ways:

1st   Connect to us by email.

By sending an email to WDTC@comcast.net, we can add you to an identity-blocked list to which we send occasional announcements.   You will also be given the option of subscribing to the WDTC listserve, through which we more regularly share news, perspectives, event announcements, and other information.

2nd   Get involved in our activities, both work and fun!

We host educational, candidate and state party forums, run key ads in local papers and other media outlets, and support candidates with visibility and get-out-the-vote efforts.   Town Democrats (and Independents too!) can work on a particular project, event, or committee, write the occasional letter to the editor, work directly with and for candidates, or attend events.   These include our 3rd-Friday-of-the-month breakfast at Mel's Restaurant in Cochituate, from 7-9:00 a.m., strictly informal get-togethers (not meetings!) where people come to meet kindred spirits and, usually, a special guest.   We also hold an annual family picnic and other activities.

3rd   Make a vital financial contribution to the work of the WDTC.

All of our efforts are made possible by individuals who volunteer their time and who donate both real and monetary resources. To step-up to a higher level of visibility and impact, we are developing a wider base of financial support among people who understand the costs of organizing and getting out the vote, sponsoring events and meetings, and the other important work of promoting democratic candidates and values.

So, please take the time right now to contact us by email: WDTC@comcast.net .   And, if at all possible, send a generous contribution - send it to:

WDTC   P.O. B ox 194   Wayland, MA 01778

Thank You!

It is by connecting together and supporting active engagement that we can make a difference for our democratic values and candidates – here in Wayland and beyond.

Thanks for your support.
