Muscles of the Back
The muscles of the back can be broken down into three groups:
superficial - muscles that act on the upper limb
intermediate - muscles of thorax
deep - muscles of vertebral column
There are 5 pairs of muscles in the superficial layer (3 are deep to the trapezius>:
trapezius
latissimus dorsi
rhomboid major
rhomboid minor
levator scapulae
