My name is Amanda and I run Bloomingfield Rattery, along with the help of my father Marty. Located in Petaluma, California (just north of San Francisco and south of Santa Rosa), Bloomingfield Rattery focuses on raising rats who excel in health, temperament and type. While we do focus on breeding show quality rats, all of our rats are pet quality. We aim to improve the longevity, health and temperament in our lines, we also pay close attention to type. All of our rats are raised in a family environment and are always exceptionally well socialized when they are ready to go to new homes. We never compromise our standards merely to breed what is popular at the moment - our main goal is to improve fancy rats, and each breeding is carefully planned with that goal in mind. Our lines include Siamese and black eyed Siamese and Russian blue agouti in standard ears and coat, although other varieties may be available at times. We rarely have dumbos available and we do not have hairless, tailless or dwarf. The owners of Bloomingfield Rattery are active members of American Fancy Rat & Mouse Association (AFRMA) and Rat Mouse Hamster Fanciers (RMHF). We try to be good ambassadors for the rat community and volunteer our time through various activities. As breeders we choose not to cull, or otherwise dispose of unwanted rats. All of our babies are placed on pet only contracts.
