| Sure, it is interesting to read about the author or the techniques, but ultimately it's about the pictures. The vision and the composition come together to deliver a moment in time seen through someone else's eyes and create a connection with the viewer. So, let's move on! | ||||||

This
update includes images from The New England Aquarium in Boston, drag racing
in Epping NH, Connecticut grapes and a few additional shots that seemed
interesting. The New England Aquarium was an outing with my kids and it proved to be a worthy endeavor. The aquarium has a great variety of sea life and the pics I posted are the most interesting under the shooting conditions: dark, thick glass between the camera and the subject and numerous people elbowing their way around. There were some amazing fish I just could not capture, however you may enjoy some of these familiar beings, including my boys :) I have attended several drag racing events, but it is always a new experience to see and feel such thunderous speed. When I say feel, I mean feeling your body shake from the power emitted by these mechanical marvels. It is hard to believe that the top fuel dragsters can achieve over 300mph in a quarter mile... I am lucky enough to know Bobby Lagana and his crew and thanks to him I was able to take a few shots of the final top-fuel races right next to the strip. Amazing! I mingled with the pro photographers covering the races and tried to leverage their elaborate lighting set-up for my shots, trying to time my photos with theirs. However, when the subject is gone in less than the blink of an eye, 'challenging' does not quite cover it... For the last few months, I have been sampling wines produced in Connecticut with local grapes and I have to admit it has been a pleasurable experience. The wineries are small and the owners accessible for wine suggestions and grape stories. The vineyards are diminutive compared to Napa or Tuscany and yet they produce a unique flavor and character that I was glad to experience. The grapes themselves beckoned to be seen and appreciated for their growing efforts and soon to be final sacrifice. The final shots were taken in between these events and just seemed to add a little emotion and color to the ensemble of pic for this update... |

By popular request I have added another image section dedicated to SPORTS photography, mostly covering soccer events for the Avon AYSO and High School teams. To keep things interesting there are also images from Avon lacrosse events and additional sports as they become available. |
