Homework
(Homework
will be assigned nightly. Included in this will be 20 mins. of required reading. Students earn 25c in Eagle Money for
completing all of their homework each week.
This includes at least 5 nights of reading for the week.)
-Reading Homework
Reading homework is checked weekly on the following Monday.
-CMS test study guides
For most PWCS Common Formative Assessments (CMS tests) I will send a study guide and an activity associated with it. Please take this time to review the concepts covered in class. Any extra time a student spends, can always help!
-Word Study
Tic Tac Toe Sheet (For reference, or to make an extra copy if needed)
-Math homework
-Students, for math pages remember to explain every step of your answers just like we do in class. Try using pictures, numbers, and/or words! Show your parents the different ways you have learned to solve math problems and explain them!
Social Studies, Science,
Language Arts
-I will often send Language Arts, Science, or Social Studies homework instead of Math for a night.
- Projects will also be sent home for
homework 3-4 times each school year. I
will always give detailed directions with each project and extensively explain it
with the class before sending it home.
Star Student of the Week
Each week we will learn all about one student
in the class. This week your
child will be our Star Student of the Week. On Monday your child will
have the opportunity to tell the other students in the class about
themselves. Please help your child
complete the sentences on the poster, add drawings and photographs. You may include extra photographs in
addition to the poster. If you choose
to send in any extra photographs, they will be returned to you the following
Monday when our new Student of the Week sends their poster to school. As we are assembling a class book about
ourselves with these posters, the poster and photos on the poster will be
returned to you at the end of the school year.
All students in the class will write letters to your child on Tuesday,
and I will give them to your child as soon as all letters are collected. On Wednesday your child may choose 2
friends to eat lunch with me in the classroom.
Our “Star Student of the Week” can read a short story or one chapter out
of a chapter book to the class on Friday. Please help your child choose a book they feel confident reading
and encourage them to practice reading it at home before Friday. If your child does not have a book at home
they feel confident reading, they may choose one from my classroom library at
school. Please let me know if he/she
chooses to read one of my books so I can allow your child time to practice
reading this book in school before Friday.
Thank you for your support at home.
Should you have any questions please contact me.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Proch
