What’s new?
Since we have switched our Encore
times, it is crucial that students arrive to school on time. Families, please try your best to get your
student to school by 9:10am each morning.
We leave the classroom each day at 9:15am. Plus, now that we have Core Extension in the afternoons as our
last block of time, any student leaving for Early Dismissal will be missing
critical instructional time. This
includes students that leave early in the day for minor illnesses or
incidents. Please consider each case
when your child is sick and judge whether they cannot complete the school
day. Most times, I use instructional
strategies and cooperative learning activities that are NOT worksheet based. Therefore, the activities and experiences
CANNOT be recreated. It is in the
best interest of every student to attend school as much as possible. Please try to limit the amount of times your
child leaves early from school.
Dismissal is at 3:40pm.
Thanks for working as a team for your
child’s education,
Mark your calendars:

Where do I want to go?

(Encore schedule, upcoming events, etc.)

(Games, websites, resources)

(Volunteer schedule, policies, wish list, Scholastic ordering,
etc.)

(Resources, ideas, etc.)

(Student government organization at Marshall ES, organized by
Kathryn Forgas and myself.)
I was born in Cleveland, Ohio as an
only child. I earned my Bachelor’s
degree at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and my Master’s degree at the
University of Central Florida in Orlando, both in Elementary Education. I am married to Mr. Proch, a High School Art
teacher at Gar-Field High School. We
moved to Virginia in 2005 and we love it!
We especially enjoy our first house we bought in May! My favorite food is sushi, my favorite color
is pink and I own two kittens, Kitty and Lilly. When I am not teaching I enjoy reading, working out and
exercising, playing games, and snowboarding.
I am quite excited to meet you so stop on by room 16 for a visit!
