This manual covers the Tektronix 1420 Vectorscope (NTSC), also the 1421 (PAL)
and the 1422 (PAL-M) versions. It is scanned from the
original OEM paper manual, which although
constructed in the usual superior Tektronix manner had been
subjected to harsh environments enough that it had begun to deteriorate.
The scans came out very well, and all information available in
the original manual is available and readable here. These pages are in PDF (Adobe Acrobat)
format, and a distributable version of Acrobat reader is also on the CD. The scans are
also included in
.JPG format, which should make them readable by just about anything out
there, including your browser. The Operations Section includes all operations
information specific to the 1420 you may need to know,
plus a great deal of general info pertaining to vectorscopes and their use,
as well as great information concerning the color aspects of color television.
The Service Sections are, of course, complete with schematics, parts lists,
theories of operation, troubleshooting and alignment info and etceteras.
You should have no problem printing the pages, then folding
and taping the sections of the fold-out pages to make very good
printed copies of the original manual. The pages are completely
readable and are fine for folks who need service information. Manual collectors, though, should
search elsewhere.
