CT-Systems (Wavetek) 3000B Service Monitor Mods and Notes
Modifications as follows are addressed:
1 Modulation Meter Peak Reading (standard is AVERAGE)
2 WIDE RESOLUTION is extended to 200 Khz P-P instead of the standard 36 khz P-P (lets you monitor and measure FM Broadcast band and TV Aural Carriers) Requires bridging each of 4 resistors with an additional 2700 ohm resistor (on the IF Board) and resetting the WIDE GAIN pot on the module to present the same RF Level reading on the scope presentation as the NARROW setting displays, while looking at the same carrier.
3 Remove De-emphasis network so the meter and front panel jack will yield wide band fm composite modulation up to beyond 20 KHZ
4 Meter scale switch -- to extend the FM Modulation Meter circuit to display a X10 scaled reading (18 KHZ is normal) -- Modulation mod lets you switch the scale to 180 khz meter reading.
Also included are some technical notes regarding the Model 3000B/3000S, as well as an informative repair history item.
