App Note: Tektronix Cookbook of Standard Audio Tests
The very high res scan of this is 24 pages in a file size of 250MB. The file size is extraordinarily large because the majority of these pages do contain photographs, many of spectrum analyzer screen details. This document is scanned to a resolution such that you can see the minute details of the specan traces that you'd see in the original if you used a magnifying glass. Please be aware that this document is locked against editing, which is something we seldom do with the very high resolution versions of our manuals but are required to do by the consignor of some Application Notes. This means that you can't extract pages separately or insert new pages into the document, and also means you're stuck with the bookmarking and hyperlinking we deemed appropriate for the document. However, please be assured that there are no shareware begging letters or other such faults in the document. If you wish to know more about why this document is locked, click the link behind the words "is locked against editing" above.
Two PDFs of the Application Note are provided, in two resolutions. One is:
Text-only pages scanned at 300dpi
Pages with photos at 800dpi 256 shade grayscale with contrast individually adjusted in prescan(s) of every page
It's fully-bookmarked and the Table Of Contents is also completely hyperlinked.
You also get a TEXT-SEARCHABLE second scan, which is done, as always, in resolutions that vary depending on individual page content, but are never higher than needed to produce a useable quality, quickly navigable file that will do the job without consuming more time and resources than are needed. This second scan is, in fact, less than five percent of the size of the "reproduction grade" PDF, and you'll be amazed at the quality retained in that file size while performance increases dramatically.

This document was written for the 5L4N Spectrum Analyzer (which has a built-in tracking generator) combined with an SG502 Oscillator, and there is also a great deal of conceptual data that applies to any and all Spectrum Analyzers/Tracking Generator/Oscillators with similar characteristics. To date the item, specific equipment mentioned in the text includes the TM503, DM502, DC504, etceteras. There are nice details such as constructing a variable or step-attenuator, shielding test setups, matching pads and test loads ("dummy loads"), as well. There's also a very nice "Standard Audio Test Form" that one can incorporate into their operations to good effect.
