Air Force Aid Society

Emergency Assistance for Basic Living Expenses such as rent or mortgage payments, vehicle repairs, etc; Applications for AFAS-sponsored Education Grants; and various Community Enhancement programs (Give Parents A Break, Bundles for Babies, Childcare for PCS, Care Car Because We Care, Childcare for Volunteers, Spouse Employment Training, etc.).

Family and Work Life Education

Programs designed to help single & married people adapt to current & future life changes; Information & Referral, Parenting Classes, Single Parent Support Group, Marriage & Relationship building, Balancing Work & Family, Heart Link New Spouse Orientation, and Ten Great Dates.

 Family Readiness

Provides military members and their families with education and assistance during times of mobilization, deployments, remote assignments and local national emergencies. Services provided include Morale Calls, Deployed Spouse Support Group, Pre-Deployment Family Preparation, Re-Deployment Family Reintegration and Phoenix Spouse Program.

Personal Financial Management

Budget Development and Financial Counseling; Periodical Financial Education and Information throughout workshops and appointments on topics such as Budgeting, Debt Reduction, Saving Plan, Investment Options, Credit Management, Career Changes and additional classes.

Relocation Assistance

Welcome & Newcomer Information, Moving to Andrews Information, Newcomer's Andrews/DC Orientation Tour,  Base Video Tours,  Smooth Move Workshops, Cultural Adaptation Information, Sponsor Training,  SITES information and Loan Closet.

Transition Assistance

School Liaison Officer

316th AW Commander's representative for all DOD personnel assigned to Andrews serving as a liaison between the base and the local school systems. Assists with issues parents may have concerning the area secondary schools.  2007-2008 School Handbook
