NEWS ARCHIVES JULY, 2006 AUGUST, 2006 SEPTEMBER, 2006 JUNE-AUGUST, 2007 ____________ 8 Perfect Launches, Well almost... July 31, 2006 Today was a gorgeous day to launch rockets. It was hot, but not bad. I did get a little burn on my neck but I will survive. We launched eight times with only one malfunction. The last launch of the day, the Superbird had a chute malfunction on the lower half and it fell into a tree about 7 feet up. One of the landscapers allowed me to climb on the top of his tractor to recover it. July 31, 2006 We stayed up late, 4AM and finished the Pip Squeak & Superbird to prepare them for today's launch at Fisher's Meadows. It should be a good one. The weather looks great. _______________ Pip Squeak gets a coat of Red Flake Paint, White coat goes on Superbird... July 30, 2006 Wingki has sprayed the first coat of red flake paint onto the Pip Squeak. It looks pretty good. Some sanding of the rough edges and another coat should do the trick. <<Click here for Pip Squeak Construction images>> Aaron has sprayed the first coat of white for the base of the Superbird. Looking good. Also new posts of payload bay finished product with the nice coats of gloss. July 30, 2006 We have set a launch date for Monday July 31, 2006. The weather looks great. Hot and sunny with only about a 9mph wind. Viking, Astra and Pip Squeak make their first launches! Not sure at the moment whether or not the Superbird will be ready! Check back for pictures and video! ________________________________ Pip Squeak project started, Paint goes on Superbird.... July 29, 2006 Wingki started building the PipSqueak today. It is so small. I hope it doesn't go so high that we never see it again. She says she will paint it red.
