Launch Equipment section added to website....

August 31, 2006

We have added a Launch Equipment section to our website. We have started to acquired several different setups for different types of rockets and thought it might be a good idea to start listing them here. We also reduced the font size of the navigation elements to 10pt to accommodate larger link words.

Primer goes on Executioner!!!...Fatboy project begins...

August 30, 2006

Today turned out to be a beautiful day. It would have been a great day to launch rockets, but we ran some errands and began painting the Executioner.

The Fatboy project has also began and it is now in the semi-finishing stage with sand-sealing up next.

Rain, rain, rain, rain go away...

August 29, 2006

It has been a rainy mess in CT for the past week. We have not be able to finish the Executioner due to the humidity. We are going to try to get the primer on it later today if it clears up. If not, Aaron might have to start the FATBOY project or go into withdrawals.

Spinfin Completed. Executioner project begins...

August 25, 2006

Wingki has completed the Spinfin rocket and it looks great! The fins were and decals were very difficult but she did a great job!

Aaron & Wingki are both building the Executioner and it is turning out to be a challenge. Not every piece is fitting like it should.

Navaho AGM Completed. Spinfin project continues...

August 24, 2006

The Navaho AGM has been completed. Pretty good results. Not the best job I have ever done but good enough. I will stick to our old method of sand sealing for now. I also will not use the Elmer's Carpenter's glue until I can get a little better results.

The Spinfin project continues. Wingki is now in the sand sealing stage and should be putting on primer shortly. Stay posted.

Navaho AGM & Spinfin Projects Begin...

August 23, 2006

Aaron began assembly on the Navaho AGM two stage rocket. Couple of new techniques mainly in the area of sanding and sealing. The results are mixed. Used Elmer's Carpenter's Wood glue for the fin fillets and sealer. Not happy with some of the results. Probably used too much glue when sealing.

Wingki has started assembly of the Spinfin rocket! This rocket probably has the hardest fins we have built. They each have a separate piece that is added in order to achieve the spinning effect.

August 22, 2006

We took a trip to Amato's today our local hobby store. We picked up a Screamin' Demon, an Executioner and a FATBOY! The last two are pretty big rockets especially the Executioner. We are looking forward to building these.

Patriot Spins out of control...Superbird Lost...

August 16, 2006

Had a good launch other than losing the payload bay of the Superbird. We only launched four rockets due to the wind but all were very exciting. The test of the Locator Buzzer was a successful failure. It beeped, but the rocket spun out of control. All of the family had a great time.

Website Updates...

August 14, 2006

We added an Accuweather local area weather link. This is basically so you can see the weather in our area. It will give us a quick link to it as well. We also added our site to the Rockerty List. Our rank range is listed right below our hit counter. Thanks for your vote!
____________

Experimental Locator Constructed...

August 11, 2006

Aaron has constructed an experimental locator for our larger rockets. It is made of a Piezo Buzzer and a 9V battery. Not sure if it will be too heavy for launch but we shall see.

Launch planned.. Family members to attend..

August 9, 2006

We are planning a rocket launch on Wednesday, August 16, 2006. Roscoe, Peggy, and Brad Bedenbaugh are visiting from Newberry, SC and will be on hand to witness the event. They will of course be helpful spotters for the recovery of the rockets. All of our fleet are scheduled to launch including the new Quark and possibly the AGM Navaho and Spinfin even though construction is yet to begin. Weather permitting, it should be an exciting day!

Breaking News!!..Pip Squeak no longer smallest!..Enter Quark...

August 9, 2006

Wow! Exciting news. We now have a smaller rocket than the Pip Squeak. The Quark weighs in at only .1 oz and only 5.2" tall. This little rocket should soar up to 700Ft. I hope we don't lose sight of it.

Website Maintenance updates...

August 2, 2006

Because of limited server space allocated for this website, I had to reduce the size of almost all of the images found on the website. They are still the same pictures they have just all been reduced in size by 50%. This will allow us to post more pictures for you to view. This should also allow for better, higher resolution videos.
