Project Navaho AGM - August 2006

Materials.

This is what is is supposed to look like. Marking the first cut.

Main rocket engine mount assembly. Both stages are the same.

Fin marking and fin assembly. I actually discovered that my middle fins are not in the right place. I measured 4" from the other fins instead of 4" from the rear of the rocket. Probably won't make any difference but still worth mentioning.

Drying in staging area. Decided to try Elmer's Carpenters wood glue for the fin fillets. Not sure if I liked it. It seemed to adhere pretty good but messy. Hard to sand later on.

This turned out to be a mistake. Wasn't going to use any type of sealer only primer coats. Decided halfway through to use the Elmer's glue as sealer. Ended up putting on too much and got an inconsistent finish.

First white coats.

This rocket has a lot of decals!

Lower stage first!

Prepping main rocket for red fin.

I hope the seals hold.

Moment of truth.

It looks pretty good. I started using two bags for protection.

Dominick into the instructions again.

Finished rocket. This thing had a million decals.

Proud parent. Not my best work, but pretty good anyway.
