Project Quark - August 2006

This is the Quark! The smallest rocket ever!

Everything is so small.

This kit makes you cut the fins out from two pieces of balsa wood.

It comes with the guide but still nerve racking. Jo kitty looks on.

Test fit.

Don't eat the instructions!

Concentration is the key..

I tried just the elmer's glue but as you see later, I went straight back to the super glue.

Super glue to the rescue!

These have to be perfect. Close one eye and spot the rouge fin placement.

Good enough.

Ready for primer!

Primer coat at night.

On goes the white gloss!

OK. I think I got this sealed pretty good.

Moment of truth!

Its perfect. YEAH!

On goes the stickers.

Unfortunately the Quark sticker did not make it. I put it too far up on the nose cone and it never had a good flat surface. Also, when I pulled it off, some of the green paint came off too. I had to retape and repaint the green. Bummer.

Here is the patch job. Looks crappy here, but I think it will be fine. Finished product looks great. I kind of like it without the logo!
