CANINE CURRICULUM

The following Pre K, Elementary Ed and Middle School courses were designed to maximize learning for you and your pet.  They were developed with a strong emphasis on small/semi-private groups to ensure that both you and your pet are given every opportunity to succeed.  You will receive more individualized attention in a “less” chaotic atmosphere while still achieving the benefit of the many distractions that group class provides.  There is a 5-dog maximum on all small/semi-private groups.

Pre-K:
Please enroll if your pup is between 8-20 weeks.  This puppy workshop is designed to get off on the right foot with your pup. Puppyhood is the most important time of your dog’s life.  If you take time to properly socialize your pup, you will enable him to grow up as a well adjusted and confident dog.  This class will assist you in forming a lifelong bond with your pup as well as lay a foundation for good behavior and cooperation.  The focus is on teaching you and your pup to enjoy training.  Positive reinforcement for desired behaviors is emphasized, as well as early behavior shaping, housebreaking, socialization & free periods, clicker conditioning, hygiene, introduction to basic commands & puppy recalls.

Small Group/Semi-Private, 6 weeks/1 hour per week/$185. (limit 5).

Elementary Ed: Please enroll if your pet is 20 weeks or older (no age limit).  This course teaches all of the essentials that every dog needs to know.  Studies include “How Dogs Learn,” clicker conditioning, no jumping, attention getters/walking on a loose leash, sit/stay, down/stay, place command (boundary stay), come when called & healing. Focus is on practical, everyday living obedience exercises.  Strong concentration on building a positive bond with your dog using minimal distractions.

Small Group/Semi-Private, 6 weeks/1 hour per week/$185 (limit 5).

Middle School: Please enroll if your pet has graduated from Elementary Ed or another comparable basic obedience class.  You have already taken the first valuable steps in training a well-mannered, four-legged member of your family.  Regular training and reinforcement are essential if your pet is to retain what you have worked so hard to teach thus far.  This course is designed to keep your pet thinking and learning while you hone your skills as his trainer. You have already done the hard part which is teaching him how to learn. Focus is on strengthening your basic obedience commands using long lines and harder, more tempting distractions.

Small Group/Semi-Private, 6 weeks/$185 (limit 5).
