You can start looking up for a word by inputting letters. Yinghan will display a list of words matching your input as you type. Select the desired word as soon as it appears on the list.
Yinghan also allows wildcard search characters '*' and '?'.

Auto-complete is the default lookup mode, where the matched list of words is displayed as you type. In addition to all the legal alphabets and punctuation marks, wildcard characters ('*' or '?") are also allowed.
To scroll up/down a page of the definition or adjacent entries: Press the hardware Up and Down keys or the scrollbar arrows.
The scroll bar for the definition text only appears when the text is large enough to require scrolling. Scroll bar is only good for scrolling a line or a page in either direction within a definition. The hardware buttons are required to scroll to adjacent headword entries.
If the Inflections link appears, click the link displays the known inflections of the headword in a message box. Inflections can include tenses, plural, comparative, superlative, adverb.
The phonetic spellings of a Chinese character can be displayed by first marking a Chinese character and then selecting Menu -> Pinyin. Note that many Chinese characters have multiple phonetic spellings. The most frequently used phonetic spelling is displayed first.
Tap Yes to synthesize the primary pinyin.
To review the history of look up word list: tap pop trigger down arrow to the right of Look Up label. Browse and select the interested word.
English speech synthesis. If a headword has phonetic spelling and its display is not disabled, the headword's pronunciation can be synthesized by clicking the [Talk] link. Make sure the audio has not been muted.
Chinese speech synthesis. Mark a Chinese character and select Menu -> Pinyin. The pinyin spellings are displayed for the marked character. Tap Yes to synthesize the primary pinyin.
Checking this item switches the simplified Chinese character display. Unchecking it switches back to traditional Chinese character displayed
One can select different Chinese font size. Actual font size support will depend on the Chinese font installed on the PDA.
To exit Yinghan and release all the memory, tap Exit or its software key button, or select Menu -> Exit.
To suspend Yinghan and returns to previous application, tap the x button in the upper-right corner. Yinghan can be resumed by launch Yinghan via Start Menu or Programs launcher.
