I am Al, an old, 4-eyed fat man with a hunger for adventure tempered only by a deep appreciation for relaxation. I am a hillbilly. I was born in Rogersville, Tennessee USA, near the Great Smoky Mountains in 1938. I am the oldest of 6 and grew up on farms near Chalk Level and St. Clair, TN.

I attended a one-room school house in Persia, TN and graduated from Bulls Gap High School in 1955. I attended the University of Tennessee for two years then graduated from Auburn University in 1960 with a degree in Forest Management.

I retired July 21, 1999 after 39 years as a forester in the wood products industry and now live in Rome, Georgia, USA.

I have been married to the same wonderful woman since 1968 and I have two fine sons, born 1974 and 1979. The youngest is married to a lovely red-haired lady and they have a precious red-haired son.

For fun, I Highpoint, Geocache, fish, play string bass and guitar, surf the web and take naps.

I'm also a pretty good Gee Haw Whimmy Diddle whittler.
