William Atkins was born February 1857 St. Gabriel de Valcartier, Quebec County, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Edward Atkins and Eliza Neil.  William left home at the age of 14. He walked to Oxbow Maine. He was a Taxidermist and owned Sporting Camps area of Oxbow Maine . William died December 24, 1930, and is buried in Swett Cemetary, Oxbow , Aroostock County, Maine.

William married (1)Susan A. Sargent February 7, 1893 Weld, Maine, USA.  Susan Sargent (birthplace- Cambridge NH) was daughter of Samuel Sargent ,born  NH, and Abiah Russell Learned (Leonard, Learnard ) born Webb,(Weld) Maine. According to tombstone information (Swett Cemetery), Susan Sargent Atkins was born 2-7-1871, and died 10-23-1899.  Nellie Sargent, sister of Susan Sargent is connected with our Family of George Neil b: Ste Catherine, Portneuf Co. Quebec, and Mary Jane Brooks b: St. Gabriel de Valcartier, Quebec. Cira 1830.

William Atkins married (2) Maud Littlefield  January 19, 1904, Masardis , Aroostock County, Maine. Maud A. Littlefield was born Standish Maine, daughter of  Wm. H. Littlefield and Lucinda Chapman (born Parsonfield Maine).
