Program Rules

  1. The recipient of the scholarship must be a full time student at Va Tech and a member in good standing of the Filipino American Student Association (FASA).
  2. The applicant must meet the following criteria:
    1. A minimum QCA of 2.5 to be verified by Va Tech Endowment.
    2. Essay (maximum of two pages, double-spaced)
    • Essay question(s) to be determined.
    • Essays (in electronic form) are to be submitted to the FASA Educational Coordinator along with the application on the 3rd Friday of January 
      by 8:00pm.
    • Essays are to be forwarded to the Board Members for review 
      on February 1.
    1. A short bio data listing the leadership positions, awards and recognitions etc... . A name and phone number of the organization is also required to verify references. 
  3. The scholarship board will evaluate and decide on the winner of scholarship. 
    The board will consist of three members.
    1. FASA faculty sponsor.
    2. A member of the Seballos Family.
    3. A VT/FASA alumni.
  4. The scholarship board will meet the Saturday of Cultural night at 10:00am and decide 
    on the winning candidate by Saturday at 1:00pm on the day of Cultural night.
  5. Applicant must sign a pledge to use the scholarship funds for educational purposes 
    (tuition, room and board, books...).
  6. FASA will recognize the awardee with a plaque at cultural night.
  7. The University will issue the money to the student's university account at the beginning 
    of the fall semester.
