Metal Detecting

 The Bounty Hunter Tracker IV

I'm just getting started in metal detecting (Like I need another hobby) I hope to find some artifacts connected to the history of this area.

Treasure Hunter's Code of Ethics

  • Always get permission to hunt on private property.
  • Always leave a site cleaner than you found it.  Take at least some of the trash, better yet, take all of it.
  • Always fill in your holes neatly whether you're in a city park or a remote wilderness.  Leave the land as you found it before you disturbed it.
  • Always obey all laws related to Treasure Hunting.
  • Always return valuable property if you can locate the owner.
  • Always do whatever you can to give the hobby of Treasure Hunting the good image it needs and deserves.

                    Tips

Although I am new at this, I thought of a couple tips that may be useful to others.

I use golf tees as markers when I get a hit. I made a holder for them and attached it to the control head with clear silicone. They are always handy and never left at home when I go hunting.

Something else I found. I see coil covers for sale as accessories. This seems like a good idea to protect the coil, but I found that the blue Saran Quick Covers fit the eight inch coil on my MD. The covers come in various sizes and will accommodate most size coils.
