Radio Installation in the Mini

At first I couldn't find a suitable location for my Yaesu 1500 2-meter rig. Since the cup holders are too small for cups, I decided to use those as the mounting base for the radio. I bought two PVC pipe caps sized to fit the cup holders, then cut a piece of ¼ in plywood as a mounting plate for the radio and screwed it to the pipe caps being careful to maintain the cup holder spacing. I mounted the radio atop the plywood using the Yaesu mount and placed the unit in the cup holders making a no-holes-drilled installation, see pictures. Notice the new location of the cigar lighter at bottom right corner of picture. I am using a through-the-glass antenna on the driver's side, rear side window, which works great.
