Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding is best for your baby. This wonderful feeding method provides your baby with everything that he or she needs nutritionally for the first six months of life, and benefits baby and mother much longer than that. Breastfeeding provides an amazing opportunity for bonding. Establishing your nursing relationship can be challenging and the most important thing is that you know how to get help. I am a board certified lactation consultant with over 3500 hours experience working with breastfeeding couples. I am able to support your breastfeeding relationship from birth through the first year and beyond. The following services are available. Prenatal Breastfeeding Class: Learn the basics of breastfeeding. Postpartum Breastfeeding Class: Learn the basics of breastfeeding - with your baby in your arms. Home Visit: A comprehensive consultation where we will troubleshoot any issues that you may be having with your new baby Follow -up Home Visit: A quick weight check and nursing evaluation to continue to work through an issue you may be having. Weight Checks -- Lets see how baby is gaining! Nice to fill in between doctors appointments. Comprehensive lactation visits are not included in the birth doula package, but are available to you at a reduced rate.
