The Front of the House
Exterior of the House taken from the corner. Original configuration, the house was built in 1957. The bushes were probably planted in the first couple of years and are well out of hand.
Exterior of the House taken from the corner after the bushes have been pulled out, sidewalk removed, the two windows and front door removed. The porch roof has been added, framing for the new door and the new bay window have been added with plywood covering the framing until the actual items arrive. The new dimensional roofing has been put in place. Note how clean the roof is with the smaller vents and the ridge vents as well as how it blends more with the surroundings.
Picture from Wednesday, July 9, 2003, note the windows now in place on the bay. You can see that the old shutters have been removed and some of the vinyl is in place, along with insulation where the new shutters will go. The walkway has been completed, the porch is in place but not finished. Door was installed on July 14th. We are waiting on the mason to finish the brick work. The vinyl is almost all in place for the eaves and window surrounds. The bricks will be repainted about the same current color. The Colonial Blue shutters are now in place and the door will be painted to match.

| Brick work is in! The mortar has to cure for at least a week before I can paint it. All the vinyl work was completed at the end of Monday, July 28th. Gutters are scheduled for July 30th. I'll post the photos in a couple of days. | |
| Here are some shots of the front before and after the columns were installed and before and after the door. Can you see the subtle difference between the picture above and the one to the left? It wasn't a big difference, only about four or five inches! | |
| Okay, here it is! Everything is done except painting the front door. The pillars are painted, the cedar mulch is in place and bushes and plants are in the ground. I also have to put up the house number yet. We spent a lot of time here last weekend when the big blackout hit us! The lack of safe water was more of a problem then the electricity being out. |
| This series shows the various stages of the front walk, from original to the final product. Pretty nice! Note the bushes that are no longer to the left of the sidewalk. I took those out by hand! A little bit of sweat and blood went into that! |
More pictures coming soon! |
