The Saga of Spiritus Draoconis was a Fourth Edition Ars Magica™ Saga I ran in the Boston suburbs from 1998-2002. In spite of its unusually long endurance, the Saga never came to the end of its main storyline. In fact, it was only really getting started when player attrition finished it off.
There is a faint possibility of some day reviving the Saga, perhaps after passing some time in the game world or picking up with a later generation of magi. Most of the truly interesting material about the underlying plot was never written down, so I couldn't post any real spoilers even if I wanted to. Instead I offer here the (rather fragmentary) records of the Saga, almost all of which was known to the player characters.
The Saga was set in the Stonehenge Tribunal. Play started before the official Stonehenge Tribunal supplement, Heirs to Merlin, was released, but a good deal of material from that sourcebook was woven into the story as it developed. The result is basically a variant that combines "official" elements with original material. Another major influence on this Saga was the Web site of the Saga of the Broken Crown.
Characters for this Saga are listed on a separate page. See also Sagakeeper, Saga #24
The covenant of Spiritus Draconis keeps both formal records and informal accounts of events in a large book that covers major events dating back to the covenant's foundation. It is kept in the covenant library except during council meetings, where a scribe makes notes in it. The Chronicle is partly a ledger, partly the minutes of Council meetings, and partly a journal and narrative of events at the covenant. There was an effort by the Storyguide to write entries in the Chronicle "in character" through the narrative of Augustin Colaire, but this proved to be too much work and the Web entries of the Chronicle fell behind almost immediately.
