Our members come from all walks of life, but at the tying table
were all just . . . . friends. Whatever your favorite species--trout, steelhead,
bass, pike, carp, panfish, or salmon, youll find kindred spirits here. Beginners and
experts alike share their tying tribulations and talents, and the fastest way for the
former to become the latter is to come, ask questions, and watch. Members are legendary
for their patience and generosity--and bad puns. When you walk through the door, just head
for the laughter downstairs.
We present programs at the first meeting of the month from January
through May. Local and national experts present on such diverse topics as: fly casting,
stewardship of the land and water, entomology, tying for specific species of fish, and how
to double the length of that fish you caught when no one was looking.
We also support local fly fishing events, education, and
conservation efforts. Members have turned out in recent years to volunteer their time and
materials at school programs and county fairs, stream clean-ups, public programs such as
the Great Waters Expo and Game Fair, and on behalf of the Kinnickinnic Land Trust in River
Falls,Wisconsin. Our goal, as always, is to promote conservation of our natural resources.
We wade, float, boat, and pontoon locally, nationally--even
internationally. Our many outings during the year (see our "Events" calendar)
wrap a day of fishing around a great mid-day meal prepared and shared by our members. So
whether youve fly-fished for decades, or just wondered what all the fuss is about,
visiting our meetings cant help but make you smile, bad puns notwithstanding.
See you Thursday!
