My favorite activity is Satellite operations. I'm primarily interested in voice and cw modes, although I will occasionally operate Packet or RTTY via satellite. . I'm currently active on AO-7, AO-27, AO-51, FO-29, SO-50 and the ISS. When it's working (it isn't right now) I'm active on AO-40.
My first satellite qso was made on August 20th, 1975 with WB0CQJ/0 via the AO-7 satellite. Since that time, I've been active on most of the Amateur satellites.
DXing
After Satellite Operations, my favorite amateur radio activity is DXing. I've been an active DXer ever since I made my first DX contact while I was still a novice. I presently have 329 countries confirmed (335 including deleted countries). The only countries I presently need are Yeman (7O), Glorioso and Jan de Nova Islands (FR), The Sudan (ST), and Andoman Island (VU7).
Awards
Other than my DXCC Honor Roll award, I don't actively chase awards. I have gotten WAC and WAS and I very nearly have 5 band DXCC. I guess I'm just not a 'paper chaser'.
Contesting
Although my station isn't truely contest quality, I do enjoy amateur radio contesting. I try to participate in ARRL Sweepstakes, CQWW phone and cw and ARRL DX tests. I don't usually submit my logs. My preference is phone contesting but I can and do operate cw contests. In addition to the above mentioned contests I sometimes participate in QRP (low power only) sprints (short 1-4hr contests).
