Jigme Chobang Daniels, shidoin (authorized instructor) began formal training of Aikido
(and other traditional Japanese 'warrior' arts) since 1983, and has been teaching for more than 15 years.
He has taught at public and private schools (including Graham and Parks in Cambridge, MA
and Commonwealth School of Boston), and has led seminars in Massachusetts, Vermont,
New York, New Jersey and Cambridge, England.
Jigme has earned dan (black-belt) ranks in two arts, teaching certificates in two others.
An active student of Tenshin Shintai Ryu Heiho* under Wes Tasker, sensei, he has been promoted to
Oku-iri Shoden ('introduction to the secrets' first scroll), and has received permission to teach.
Since 1994, Jigme has been studying and practicing Japanese healing arts- (Shiatsu and Sotai)
under such noted instructors as Kiku Miyazaki, sensei (Boston Shiatsu [now the Boston Bodywork School]),
and Arthur Sennott, sensei (Mizenkan). More recently, he has completed the traditional honesei
(bone-setting), amma (deep-tissue massage) and Kampo (herbology) section of the Tenshin Shintai Ryu
curriculum.
"Teaching traditional 'martial' arts is the culmination
of a lifelong interest in traditional Japanese arts and warriorship.
I am neither a grandmaster nor a master, but a practitioner who strives to tread the
Budo (Way of the Warrior), and is lucky enough to have others accompany me on that path.
The AIKI BUDOKAI seeks to honor the instructors and teachings whose kindness has inspired
