This may be the popular favorite of all Edmund Sullivan's Irish paintings. Never was there a more typical, snug Irish thatched cottage than this one with its little close in front and giant shade tree standing guard just outside. The most memorable sight of all is the man giving his home a fresh Spring whitewash. Such a picture of calm and renewal. A lovely sight.
