Dear Friends of the Arts,

In 1973 the Ferrini Dramatic Center (our auditorium) was named for Ms. Margaret "Peg" Ferrini in honor of her many years of service and dedication to the students of Hamilton and Wenham.

When the auditorium seats were first installed in 1962, they were state of the art. The wooden backs were chosen for their outstanding sound resonance and the padding was made from the finest foam available. Today, these seats are still superior to the plastic seats being installed in new auditoriums, and yet our seats are tired and in disrepair.

We would like to give you an opportunity to be involved in a major renovation and revitalization of the Ferrini auditorium. The renovations will include reconditioning the Seats, striping and waxing the floor, laying new aisle runners, adding aisle lighting, and replacing the stage Curtains, including the show curtain.

We will be removing all ofthe seats and sending them to the American Seating Company (the original manufacturer) to be sandblasted, stripped, repainted, refinished and repaired. All wooden parts will stripped and refinished, all metal parts will be sandblasted and repainted, all cushions will be replaced and all moving parts will be upgraded.

The tile floor, which is the original floor, will be completely stripped and re-waxed for the first time in 40 years. The aisles will be carpeted with new runners and aisle lighting will be replaced, returning the theatre to its original condition. Additionally we will replace the curtains — giving us an opportunity to return the stage to a like-new condition.

The theatre renovation offers supporters an opportunity to sponor seat plaques as a personal gift to preserve someone's memory, rink a child or grandchild to the theatre, or to mark a special occasion. Each seat plaque may be inscribed for a tax-deductible gift of $175. A sample seat is available for viewing in the lobby of the high school.
