Alan Spector, founder of Claire the Loon Music,
is a professional musician and songwriter who also holds a masters degree in
genetics from the University of Wisconsin.
While working as a teacher in the
Berkeley public school system he became aware of the need for ways to present
scientific concepts to children and in general, spark their interest in scientific
subject matters.
Combining his interest in science and music Alan wrote Genes!
Genes! Genes! and in the wake of its success, other shows followed.
Alan has
recorded two children's albums and plays guitar and sings with Jazz Mine, his
own jazz group.
Debra Knox is a wonderful singer, actress, musician and songwriter who
brings an element of spontaneity to each performance.
Debra is also a gifted children’s performer and teaches classes in acting and
songwriting for children. She is a veteran of the San Francisco theater scene,
acting in and directing many shows for both adults and children.
In addition, Debra has recorded an original rock album and performs concerts
throughout the Bay Area.

Tim Hart has been performing most of his life.
When he was seven, he made his television debut on the Bozo the Clown Show and
was later a member of the San Francisco Boys Chorus.
Tim has since appeared
in numerous plays, operas, and musicals. He toured with the Hampstead Players,
bringing Shakespeare to elementary school students.
A master of voices and accents,
Tim keeps our youthful audiences spellbound with his portrayal of many characters
in the Vanishing Species show.
Casey Jones has delighted stage and film audiences
with her performances.
In addition to appearing in theater productions, Casey
has recorded several albums and has done voice-over for major motion pictures.
She enjoys working with children (she was a member of the Laney Children's Theater
Troupe) and is an accomplished storyteller.
Casey brings a spark of magic
to our presentation.
