Mark Emil Hansen
(October 15, 1953 - December 28, 2006)

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away due to a stroke, on December 28, 2006 in Provo, Utah. He was born January 15, 1953 in Provo to Russell Herman and Edna Ramona Rainwater Hansen. He graduated from Orem High School in 1971 and attended BYU, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Recreation Education.

Mark married Satu Helena Kariniemi on May 28, 1975 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. He enjoyed his family, fishing, camping, reading, BYU football, gardening, and painting. He loved coaching the SF high school track team from 1996-2005. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mark served in Scouting, the Sunday School, a Bishopric, and as a home teacher.

Mark is survived by his wife, Satu; his children, Kirsti; Ossian (Sarah); Seth (Angela); Päivi (Jeremy); Suvi; and Kai; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Kevin, Abraham, Elijah, Liberty, and Joseph-Mark. He is also survived by his mother, Ramona, and siblings, Grant, Tom, James, Alan, Pennie, and Gayle. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salem 2nd Ward Chapel, 60 S. Main Street, Salem, Utah. Family and friends may call from 9:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Salem City Cemetery.
