at Palo Alto Foothill Park

There is Online information about Foothill Park here; here's a map or where we were.

There were "caravans" from Stan & Kiyomi's house at noon and 1 PM. We started snacking on the chips & dip, crackers & cheese, fruit, and drinking our favorite beverage (the Gordon Biersch beer selections were quite popular, as was the blush wine). Then we started eating about 3 PM, with Lee, Wilton, and Alan having done most of the grilling (and subjecting everything to a "taste test"). The grill included Maui Onions that even Stan could eat, three kinds of sausage, zucchini, Portabello mushrooms, various colors of peppers, flank steak, and ribs. Here's a group shot.

The wonderful salads provided by Pat and Louise went very well with the barbecue. Everything turned out great, and there were surprisingly few leftovers. Then we had dessert - cookies, and a delicious chocolate cake. Bocce Ball was a favorite sport, and a few more active participants played baseball. The more sedentary watched from the shade.

The weather was warm (low-to-mid 70s), some breeze (10-15 mph) and sunny, although our Oak Grove site was well shaded. Many cameras caught many "Kodak moment" photo opportunities. Aya has already posted her photos online, and has invited everyone to view the pictures - click here. You'll have to register if you aren't a member of Kodak Photo Gallery already (it's free and quick), or be my guest: email - stan.hutchings@lmco.com; password - keg9753.
